The Lion’s Song
Artwork and poem by Richard Neville
waiting early morning
waiting in the white open
awaiting what more
only the still silence
snow in the early morning
awaiting steps and tracks an opening
towards the wall of stones dark in the white
an opening beyond
the sound of sea beyond
where the headland curves into ocean
there in the white there is something new
there in the white there is a mist from which comes someone new
there in the white there is the spume of seafall, the wrack of the flotsam brought to the beach
so actions turn to steps upon the white
in this opening there is a question, to which there is no answer,
except the careful step that takes from one end of the field to the other
from one end of the day to the other
from one end of the pause to the
other end of the breath which opens and speaks
let the throng rush in the space between
let the water clear and become clean
let the water course cool and even and in the gentle slipping dipping serene
let all settle and all be seen
Scroll Stories Unending
Combined Artwork by Richard Neville and Agnishikha Ray
Poem by Agnishikha Ray
The story begins, a story unending
Echoing melodies, voyagers of sea; of space
Unroll the scroll, beneath the ocean
The lion swims, fishes gather
Who tells the story?
Who listens and who is heard?
Vastness of these tales, the ocean contains
Holder a memory and myth, like a library
Where the roots connect
The hands of nature, and all that is alive
A myth unfolds, unrolling, limitless
Splashes of energy, hues of chaos
Travellers arrive, the forest expands
Conversations begin, stories exchanged, stories unending.
The Legend of the Chaos Box
This is the story of a box, it lies beneath a tree, I’ll tell you soon what it contains, won’t be no fantasy…
Ballad poem by Richard Neville; Animation by Agnishikha Ray
Story and characters inspired from the scroll making sessions
This is the story of a box
it lies beneath a tree
I’ll tell you what it does contain
It’s not a fantasy
There’s something in it, nature’s force
Call it what you will
Some call it chaos, and its course
Can bring both good and ill…
The 4 Mugs Lullaby
Blow the wind and blow the storm!!!!
Combined Artwork on paper
Poem by Richard Neville; Animated by Agnishikha Ray
Blow the wind and blow the storm
Sweep across the land
Bring those things the wind has borne
Carried in its hands
Blow the wind and blow the storm
Crying in the night
Bring the moon as yet unborn
Into the starlight
